My Drawing Tools
My traditional drawing tools are mostly:
- an F pencil to sketch with, and some darker ones for shading (2B, 3B, or 7B are the ones I have to hand right now)
- whichever sketchbooks are lying around
- An artist putty/rubber eraser
- If I'm at home, I also use a Ravenna Table Easel ( I wrote a lens about why I love this table easel here)
My digital art tools, for paintings (either from scratch or over the traditional sketches) are:
- ArtRage - both ArtRage 2.5 and ArtRage Studio Pro
- And of course, a graphics tablet. I just upgraded from a Bamboo Fun to an Intuos 3 (both second-hand and both awesome)
On the blog
- you can find all the sketches and WIPs under the tag sketchblog
- Nicely finished paintings (not always mine) under the tag artwork
- And all my digital work under the tag ArtRage
- More generally, check out the tags photography, fan art, DeviantART and Zazzle for other arty posts.
Around the web - Art sites
- I'm starting to put my art up on Tumblr, so may move away from posting it here. Or maybe not.
- On Squidoo, I have several art lenses, collecting my art by various niches (e.g. colour, dragons, cats, sketches)
- My DeviantART gallery has all my finished paintings
- My RedBubble Gallery and Store has all my nice, sellable paintings
- My Zazzle store is the print on demand that I mainly try and sell my artwork from.
Do I Do Commissions?
Actually, yes. I'm still figuring out some of it, but you're welcome to ask me if there's something you're not sure about. Take a look over my art here and see if you'd like a commission from me and how it will work: Art Commissions from Flynn the Cat
